Salary: $135,000 to $140,000
Travel RequirementsHeavy travel required (30%-60%)
Ideal Candidate- This division currently has over 200 active projects (between engineers and plant engineers) and will spend approximately $35M on capital this year.
- The projects / investments will continue to increase over the next five years.
- There are seven Division Engineers that handle projects across the fourteen plants.
- We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer role. This person will have experience managing projects from justification to completion including all budget management, contractor leadership and must have leadership experience and technical ability to successfully manage upcoming investments.
- Candidate should have 5 years of Project Engineering/Management/Leadership experience.
- Preferred salary range 135-140k with a 10% bonus.
- Projects could include new production lines, packaging lines, plant HVAC systems, dryer rebuilds.
- Relocation assistance approved for relocation to Littleton, Colorado.
- Otherwise, candidate should be within one hour drive of any of the listed locations.
- The Senior Project Engineer is accountable for all technical and commercial aspects of large and complex investment projects. Execution must be completed safely, timely, on budget and per the agreed scope and functionality.
- Responsible for equipment and work specifications; develops schedules, budgets and forecasts; selects materials, equipment, project resources, and contractors, and ensures all aspects of the design are reviewed technically and commercially for scope, safety, quality, and functionality.
- Leads a cross‑functional project team that typically consists of plant personnel, discipline engineers, procurement and external engineering contractors. Reports to the project steering team which reviews options and provides support and guidance at the various phases of the project.
- Requires proximity to a plant to support on‑site collaboration and operational needs.
- Execute investment projects with a budget of $5M to $60M with medium/high complexity according to the CPP process.
- Develop, guide, review, and present project feasibility studies and business cases that accurately identify project benefits, risks, and returns.
- Estimate costs, resources, and time required to complete approved projects.
- Drive iteration of options to identify the most optimal technical solution.
- Ensure Lessons Learned are considered in design considerations.
- Provide project management and oversight for all phases for multiple concurrent projects.
- Review mechanical and/or electrical controls detail engineering for all project aspects; ensure compliance to technical specifications and contracts.
- Coordinate, review, provide oversight and manage external engineering resources and consultants as needed.
- Develop bid request documentation, supplier lists, bid evaluations, and make recommendations for purchasing.
- Design safe processes and specify safe equipment, ensuring ergonomics and safety hazards are addressed.
- Design and specify environmentally compliant equipment and processes, ensuring all permit requirements are considered.
- Prepare, review, deliver, and implement necessary training to maintenance and operations workforce.
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed, driving a zero‑incident project environment.
- Work with Engineering Leaders and Procurement to evaluate potential engineering firms and contractors.
- Maintain effective communication to management and project customers regarding project status, problems, and changes.
- Apply lean manufacturing concepts to all aspects of design and project execution.
- Prepare, organize, document, and archive project documentation.
- Drive a continuous lesson‑learn logbook through the project and analyze after completion.
