St. James Preschool (Littleton, CO) is seeking a Preschool Teacher with ECT qualifications for our 3‑year‑old preschool classroom. Candidates must have experience working with preschoolers and have a passion for teaching and supporting children in all domains of their development. Teachers are responsible for planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate, investigative curriculum within a loving faith‑based environment. Fostering positive social/emotional development, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills are priorities.

St. James uses Creative Curriculum, Conscious Discipline and The Pyramid Model as the foundational pieces of our preschool curriculum. We believe in the play‑based model of early childhood education. We know that play is the process and learning is the outcome. Our smaller class sizes encourage individual attention in a nurturing environment. In the 3‑year‑old classroom, the maximum number of students is 14 with 2 full‑time staff.

Our preschool is open from September through May. We follow the Littleton Public School schedule for breaks during the year. The hours for teachers are 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This is a 5‑day/week position. Pay is commensurate with experience and education. Starting pay is between $18‑$22 per hour.

• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices
• Plan individual and group age‑appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
• Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, parent‑teacher conferences and weekly connection letters
• Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
• Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
• Maintain accurate records, forms and files
• Attend monthly staff and planning meetings (First and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 1:30 to 3:30. This is paid time)

• CT qualified through PDIS
• Previous teaching experience in ECE
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
• A strong understanding of child development.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.

• Associates Degree or higher in ECE or related field
• Experience with Creative Curriculum, Conscious Discipline and Pyramid Model

St. James Preschool is located in Littleton, Colorado and serves children ages 2 ½ to 6 years old. We are a play‑based preschool and provide a caring, supportive Christian environment where children can grow in all domains of their development. Our highly qualified staff are committed to nurturing relationships with children and their families.

Our program runs from 9:30 am – 1:30 pm Monday through Friday, and we offer 2‑day, 3‑day, and 5‑day options for families.
