Project Manager I – HVAC Controls

As a Project Manager I, you will oversee the entire life cycle of HVAC controls projects within the Building Automation/Temperature Controls division, working with construction managers or senior project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to customer specifications.

$87,000 – $110,000 per year, plus commission.

• Gather and maintain equipment submittals and project documents.
• Ensure all contract documentation is current and accurate.
• View and analyze job reports using company reporting tools.
• Identify changes to scope, schedule, or job site factors that impact productivity and profitability.
• Monitor costs and notify managers when expenses exceed estimates.
• Recognize additional work or schedule changes that affect resources or cost.
• Complete projects according to proposals, drawings, and specifications.
• Assure engineering has necessary information for submittals and installation drawings.
• Order equipment based on approved submittals to meet installation timelines.
• Prepare and maintain project schedules using MS Project or approved platform.
• Review financial performance of specific jobs.
• Participate in work‑in‑progress meetings and provide status updates.
• Schedule personnel, equipment, subcontracting, and materials within estimated costs.
• Travel to and inspect job sites and customer locations as needed.

• 4‑year construction management degree preferred; alternatively 2‑year technical degree + 2 years of temperature controls experience, 5 years of commercial HVAC project management, or 6 years of temperature controls experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, fire alarms and smoke removal systems, engineering, installation, management, and construction procedures.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Availability for after‑hour consultation and problem‑solving as required.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, MS Projects).

• PMP Certification in project management is a plus.
