Junior Accountant
Location: Littleton, CO (On-site)
Compensation: $65,000–$75,000
Schedule: Monday–Friday
A rapidly growing, highly collaborative company in Littleton is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their team. This position supports an AP function that is currently at capacity and requires someone who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable stepping into a fast-paced, evolving environment.
The ideal Junior Accountant candidate brings foundational accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to support multiple areas, including AP, checks processing, debit entries, and ACH payments. As the company continues to scale, being comfortable with change and cross-functional collaboration is essential.
What You’ll Do as a Junior AccountantHigh-Volume Check Processing (Primary Focus)
Take ownership of the check-processing workflow, which is the core responsibility of this role
Prepare, review, and process checks
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance for all check batches
Coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies or obtain missing information
Maintain organized, audit-ready check records and documentation
Support the transition of certain check-related tasks as responsibilities migrate to other team members
Accounts Payable Support
Assist an AP department that is currently operating at full capacity
Support daily AP functions including debit entries, ACH payments, invoice review, and transaction processing
Help maintain clean, accurate vendor records and timely payment cycles
General Accounting
Post journal entries and assist with month-end close
Reconcile accounts and investigate variances
Support general ledger accuracy through consistent data entry and documentation
Refunds & AR Support
Process a high volume of refunds with precision and attention to detail
Step in to support AR tasks when needed
Communication & Data Work
Manage professional email correspondence with internal teams and state boards
Navigate Excel-heavy workflows including pivot tables, lookups, and large data sets
Collaborate across a highly interconnected accounting environment.
What You Bring as a Junior Accountant candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
1–3 years of experience in AP, AR, or general accounting
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, large data sets)
Comfort working in a structured environment with high-volume deadlines
Ability to adapt to changing processes and evolving responsibilities
Strong written communication and customer service skills
Exceptional attention to detail and consistency
Ability to work independently while collaborating across the team
Junior Accountant applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check
