Do you love teaching, thrive in the water, and want to play a crucial role in saving lives? We're seeking a passionate and professional Lifeguard Instructor certified by the American Red Cross (ARC) to join our team and lead the charge in training future lifesavers.
As a Lifeguard Instructor
, you'll not only teach lifesaving skills - you'll instill confidence, promote water safety, and serve as a role model for both new and experienced aquatics professionals.
- Teach & Certify: Deliver engaging, high-quality American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid classes in accordance with ARC standards.
- Prep Like a Pro: Coordinate and organize all course logistics - from setup and supplies to student materials and certifications.
- Inspire Safety: Motivate and mentor lifeguard candidates to take water safety seriously and develop the skills to respond to emergencies with confidence.
- Assess & Coach: Evaluate participant performance, provide constructive feedback, and uphold ARC evaluation criteria for passing.
- Stay Current: Maintain up-to-date ARC Instructor credentials and participate in professional development opportunities when available.
- Collaborate: Work closely with aquatics leadership, on-site teams, and other instructors to create a seamless, professional training experience.
- Required: Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification
- Preferred: Additional instructor certifications (e.g., CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, First Aid, Water Safety Instructor)
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to engage, motivate, and lead diverse groups of learners
- Confidence in the water and comfort, demonstrating physical skills
- Reliability, professionalism, and an upbeat, safety-first attitude
- Flexible schedule required - including evenings and weekends as classes demand
- Seasonal increases in course demand (spring/summer)
