HVAC​/R Service Technician

Overview

Mechanical Systems and Service (MSS) is a Crete United company based in West Monroe, LA. MSS is a specialty contractor in heating, ventilation and air conditioning. We are expanding throughout the state and beyond and are looking to hire a Commercial HVAC technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair HVAC systems.

Position is full-time with benefits and opportunities for growth. This role will service the Little Rock, AR area and surrounding counties SW and SE of Little Rock.

• Perform routine repairs to pump seals, bearings, and related components.
• Inspect and test systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications or to detect malfunctions.
• Determine customer concerns with HVAC and boiler systems.
• Follow standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area.
• Record and report faults, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences, and document time and materials on work orders.
• Adjust system controls to manufacturer-recommended settings to balance the system.
• Develop or perform maintenance procedures such as cleaning, power-washing, vacuuming equipment, lubricating parts, or changing filters.
• Install auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment, such as expansion and discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, and stokers, following blueprints.
• Study blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturers  recommendations to determine the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and ensure proper installation.
• Fabricate, assemble, or install ductwork or chassis parts using portable metal-working tools or welding equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience.
• EPA universal certification.
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC components within built-up systems and package units (including chillers, air handlers, pump towers, cooling towers, control systems, boilers, and air handling systems).
• Ability to learn commercial boiler, chiller, pneumatic controls, digital controls, and packaged HVAC equipment.
• Ability to read electronic schematics.
• High School diploma or GED required, plus equivalent work experience.
