Job Title: Meter Service Installer

Note: This position requires a “Test Recommended” score on the EEI Construction and Skilled Trades Selection System (CAST) test. Fit‑for‑Duty testing may also be required; details are provided in the qualifications section.
Performs all types of meter service functions including electric turn‑on, turn‑off, removal, exchanges, rereads, reconnects, and tampering.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Work single‑phase and three‑phase meters on residential and commercial accounts.
- Perform disconnects on residential and commercial accounts due to non‑payment of bills.
- Install and remove different types of locks for tamper prevention.
- Attend and participate in monthly safety meetings.
- Provide excellent customer service in a professional manner while handling customers in the field.
- Assist in storm restoration efforts as needed.
- Complete daily work tickets through the Mobile Data system.
- Know and practice Entergy’s applicable safety rules and safe work procedures at all times.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience Required- Installer, Meter Services I – 0–2 years
- Installer, Meter Services II – 1–3 years
- Installer, Meter Services III – 5–7 years
- Excellent interpersonal and radio communication skills.
- Ability to read maps and navigate city streets and roads in the assigned work area.
- Ability to interface with coworkers, other departments, supervisors, and customers.
- Ability to make decisions without direct supervision.
- Ability to travel, including out‑of‑town assignments.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
- Self‑motivated, dependable team player who works well under pressure.
- Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and mitigate them.
- Basic knowledge of Entergy regulations governing disconnects for non‑payment, diversion of electricity, and service standards for electric.
- Working knowledge of meter installations.
- Opportunity recognition for process improvement.
