About the Position
The Food Preparation Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of food service personnel, directing food service activities, monitoring security and safety practices, coordinating the production and serving of food, ordering supplies, and the preparation of reports. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.
QualificationsMinimum:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 years of experience in institutional or commercial food service operations, including 1 year supervisory experience.
- Self-directed, flexible and innovative.
- Good leadership and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in dietetics or a related field, Serv Safe Certified, Certified Dietary Manager.
- Perform all tasks of the cashier and the food preparation technician with proficiency.
- Help staff prepare food, make coffee drinks, clean, cashier, and provide outstanding customer service.
- Ensure that the staff follows recipes designed by management.
- Handle questions, concerns, and complaints.
- Train and supervise all staff while following UAMS policies and procedures.
- Perform all register counting duties while following policies and procedures, and hold the staff accountable.
- Complete all documentation daily.
- Accurately record the temperatures of coolers and food to ensure customer safety.
- Audit staff duties and complete daily cleaning checklists for inspection.
- Perform other duties assigned.
