UAMS is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Nursing Director to lead the Cancer Service Line, a critical component of our mission to deliver exceptional patient care. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of nursing practice and patient care delivery within our institution. As a member of the UAMS Health leadership team, the Senior Nursing Director will drive the performance of staff, foster a culture of excellence, and ensure the development and implementation of high-quality, patient-centered care.
This position requires a visionary leader who can mentor others, influence multidisciplinary teams, and advance nursing practice in alignment with UAMS' strategic goals.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Must be an active RN who has graduated from an accredited nursing program and holds a graduate degree in nursing or a related field.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of nursing experience, including at least four (4) years in RN leadership or managerial roles.
- State of Arkansas Registered Nurse licensure or eligible for licensure in Arkansas
- National Nursing Certification
- At least eight (8) years of nursing managerial experience in the related service area.
- At least four (4) years of oncology nursing (inpatient or ambulatory) experience
- Expertise in oncology nursing practice and patient care.
- Familiarity with regulatory and accrediting body requirements.
- Understanding of Magnet environment and nursing excellence standards.
- Leadership and mentorship to guide nursing staff.
- Strong verbal, written, and analytical communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer-based information systems.
- Foster a culture of excellence and improvement.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and leadership.
- Manage resources, including budgets.
- Promote research and innovation in nursing practice.
- Lead and inspire nursing staff across multiple divisions, units, and clinics to deliver high-quality care.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, including the CEO, CCO, CFO, and Patient Care Services leadership, to align nursing services with institutional objectives.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, programs, and services that support UAMS' mission and enhance patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Cancer Administrator with annual budget preparation and ensure efficient resource allocation for nursing services.
- Promote continuous quality improvement, research, and innovation in nursing practice.
- Facilitate effective communication between nursing, medical staff, and other departments to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting body requirements, including The Joint Commission and Arkansas Board of Nursing.
- Serve as a role model and mentor, actively participating in leadership activities such as committees, teaching, and research.
