Summary ofJob Duties
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Psychiatric Research Institute (PRI) consistently provides effective direct care to a variety of patients, works as part of the interdisciplinary team, based on licensure, title and competencies.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associate's Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or Master's Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Arkansas
- Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethic and accountability
- 2 or more years of Registered Nurse experience
- Current BLS certification
- The RN seeks, as well as provides, feedback for improved clinical practice. The RN integrates theory and research into clinical practice.
- The RN provides leadership to members of the nursing team in order to maintain patient care standards.
- The RN works under the direct supervision of the Clinical Services Manager (CSM). Promotion is based on years of experience, satisfactory performance appraisals and recommendation by manager.
- Employee must successfully complete a UAMS-sponsored conflict management training to identify, prevent, and mitigate disruptive behaviors using methods such as non-escalation, de-escalation, personal protection from physical assaults, and physical alternatives within six months of hire.
- PRI Inpatient Units include the General Adult Inpatient Unit, the Women's Unit, the Child Diagnostic Unit, and the Interventional Hospital-Based Clinic.
