Job Duties:
Schedule: full-time & part-time available;
Shift: day shift and night shift available. This posting will be utilized to fill multiple positions.
Description of Role: The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to assigned patients in Cardiovascular/Medical Specialties (F8). This 30-bed adult inpatient unit specializes in care and treatment of patients belonging to the Cardiology, Cardiothoracic (CT) Surgery, and Vascular Surgery teams, as well as Medicine teams. Our inter-professional team works together to meet patient needs with heart and vascular conditions, including post-open heart surgery, lung surgery, angioplasty, pacemaker insertion, vascular surgery, aneurysm repair, amputations, heart attack, arrhythmias, heart failure, and related conditions.
Patients on telemetry are remotely monitored, with portable bedside monitors available for closer observation. F8 embraces the mission and values of the UAMS Integrated Clinical Enterprise philosophy of patient care delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
- Valid RN License
- One (1) year of Registered Nursing experience
- Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- National Certification
- BSN or MSN
- Two (2) or more years of nursing experience with a minimum of one (1) year in an acute care setting such as a teaching hospital
- Cardiac experience
Responsibilities:
- Delivers nursing care for patients within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures and standards.
- Responsible to adhere to the standard of care defined by UAMS, ANA, and Standards for specialty patient population with support and mentoring by other team members.
- Collects and documents assessment data. Develops a Plan of Care (POC) per standard.
- Implements POC including medical order and interdisciplinary approach.
- Evaluates the progress of patient toward attainment of desired outcomes.
