Summary
A Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering care within the scope of training and expertise, collaborating with other disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes is met, in conjunction with the objectives and policies of the hospital and the Nurse Practice Act of the state of Arkansas.
The PACU Nurse is a Registered Nurse who provides nursing care to patients following surgery. The PACU nurse focuses on providing post‑anesthesia nursing care to the patient in the immediate post‑anesthesia period and transitioning them to Phase II care, the inpatient setting, or to a critical care setting for continued care. The PACU nurse carefully monitors the condition of patients who are waking up for postoperative anesthesia.
Responsibilities- Monitor post‑operative vital signs.
- Assess levels of consciousness.
- Observe patients for any side effects from anesthesia.
- New RN graduate from an accredited nursing program or registered nurse in good standing, licensed to practice in the state of Arkansas.
- BSN preferred.
- Healthcare CPR required; some areas may require ACLS, PALS, and/or NALS. Training is provided.
- Specialty units will require and provide specific specialty education.
This job will be authorized 40.00 hours bi‑weekly.
