Summary ofJob Duties
The Specialty RN for the Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) department provides advanced nursing care and coordination for high‑risk obstetric patients under the direction of MFM physicians and advanced practice providers. This role supports complex clinical management, ensures continuity of care across multiple specialties, and serves as a key liaison between patients, providers, and interdisciplinary team members.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate Degree, ADN Degree, or Diploma RN. Major:
Registered Nurse. - RN with a minimum of 1 year of RN experience. Current BLS certification.
- Valid Arkansas Registered Nursing License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ACLS certification or obtain certification within one year of hire date.
- EPIC experience is preferred.
- Nursing experience in high risk obstetrics is preferred.
- Collaborate with MFM providers to coordinate care for patients with complex pregnancies, including high-risk maternal conditions, fetal anomalies, or comorbidities.
- Ensure seamless communication and scheduling with ancillary services such as ultrasound, genetics, social work, and nutrition.
- Monitor test results, facilitate referrals, and provide follow‑up communication to patients per provider direction.
- Triage patient calls, MyChart messages, and provider in‑baskets to assess patient needs, provide education, and coordinate care in a timely and compassionate manner.
- Document all patient interactions and provider communications per policy.
- Review daily clinic schedules to ensure that all relevant medical records, imaging, and lab results are available for provider review.
- Coordinate and obtain required prenatal testing, diagnostic imaging, and laboratory work prior to patient visits.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding maternal and fetal conditions, diagnostic testing, and care plans as directed by providers.
