LPN CARDIOLOGY AND MEDICINE ENTERPRISES
Description:
We are looking for an energetic Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) that can be a team player in a busy Cardiology Clinic. The LPN provides clinical and administrative expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. Must interview patients, obtain medical history, complete lab and x-ray request, keep charts current, and screen calls within physician guidelines. Possess clinical research protocol knowledge.
Applicant should express a caring and professional attitude, have excellent computer skills, and be able to multi-task. Experience with Event monitoring, Holters, EKGs and Stress Test preferred.
- Record health history of patient and note abnormal conditions for physician.
- Instruct patients on any necessary procedures and tests.
- Room patients, perform EKGs and obtain vital signs.
- Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
- Ensure that patient chart entries are made accurately and in a timely manner and forward charts as appropriate.
- Maintain patient files, records, and other information.
- Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments.
- Arrange referrals to a specialist and obtain pre-authorizations when directed to by the provider.
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
- Assist with lab testing and Phlebotomy.
- Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments.
- Notify patients of test results and follow-up appointments.
- Instruct patient and family regarding medications, treatments, and follow-up instructions.
- Contact pharmacies and notify patients of prescriptions.
- Control inventory and monitor the use of supplies.
- Maintain up to date stock and monitor and maintain medical equipment.
- Respond to and screen telephone calls for physician. Triage patients to ensure productive departmental flow.
- A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing is required. Must be certified in the state of Arkansas and possess a current Arkansas License.
- Must have at least one (1) year of clinical experience, along with Lab, EKG, and X-ray experience.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
