We’re on a mission to make college more affordable by helping students save money on textbooks and course materials. Our brand is trusted by students nationwide for rentals, buybacks, and easy access to the books they need to succeed. We’re looking for a creative and data-driven Social Media Manager to bring our brand voice to life across platforms and engage with our student audience where they spend their time most online.

Responsibilities
  • Strategy & Planning
    • Develop and execute a social media strategy across Tik Tok, Instagram, You Tube, X, Linked In, and other emerging platforms.
    • Develop and execute a social media strategy that drives brand awareness, engagement, and sales among Gen Z audiences.
    • Create, curate, and publish content (posts, Reels, Stories, Tik Toks, Shorts, memes, and trends) aligned with the brand’s voice and style.
    • Act as the online voice of the brand by responding to comments, DMs, and actively join conversations where our audience is.
    • Identify and jump on cultural trends, viral moments, and relevant conversations to keep Valore’s brand top of mind.
    • Partner with influencers, creators, and ambassadors to expand reach and build credibility.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, marketing, and product teams to align content with launches, campaigns, and promotions.
    • Experiment with new content formats and emerging platforms to stay ahead of the curve.
    • Align social content with broader marketing campaigns (rentals season, buyback season, back-to-school, finals).
    • Manage the social content calendar and ensure consistent posting across all channels.
    • Keep current with the latest social media trends
  • Content Creation & Management
    • Write engaging captions and create short-form video, graphics, and stories that resonate with high school & college students.
    • Partner with design, marketing, and campus ambassadors for user-generated content (UGC).
    • Manage daily posting, scheduling, and community interaction.
  • Community Engagement
    • Be the brand’s online voice — actively respond to comments and messages while engaging with student communities. Participate in conversations on social media posts and videos where students are already spending time.
    • Build relationships with student influencers and campus organizations.
  • Analytics & Performance
    • Track, analyze, and report on key metrics (engagement, reach, conversions, follower growth).
    • Optimize content based on insights and platform trends.
    • Monitor competitors and industry trends to keep the brand ahead.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 2+ years of experience in social media management
    • Deep understanding of Gen Z digital culture, memes, Tik Tok trends, and platform nuances.
    • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to adapt voice per platform.
    • Proficiency with social media reporting tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout, Later, Meta Business Suite).
    • Comfortable analyzing performance data and adjusting strategy accordingly.
    • Creative mindset with an eye for design, video editing, and storytelling.
    • Self motivated and able to work independently with minimal direction
    • Highly organized with strong planning and attention to detail
    • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Creative, self-motivated, and proactive — always looking for fresh ways to connect with the audience.
    • Comfortable on camera and/or managing UGC (user generated content) content production.
Nice To Have
  • Experience working with more than one brand at a time
  • Experience working with B2C educational brands.
  • Background in influencer partnerships and campaign management.
  • Familiarity with paid social ad management and A/B testing.
  • Passion for education and student success.
