About this Role
The Venture Center is seeking a proactive, organized, and relationship-driven Membership Manager to lead the development, engagement, and growth of our member community. This role is central to cultivating a thriving ecosystem of entrepreneurs by creating a strong funnel for new members, streamlining processes, automating manual tasks, and ensuring an excellent member experience from onboarding to renewal.
The Membership Manager will manage the full membership lifecycle, including lead generation, onboarding, engagement, and retention, while continuously seeking opportunities to increase value for members and improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is an organized problem solver who thrives on building relationships, improving systems, and delivering meaningful experiences that connect entrepreneurs to resources, mentors, and one another.

ResponsibilitiesMembership Management & Growth
- Develop and manage the membership funnel from lead generation to conversion
- Grow membership year-over-year through proactive outreach, partnerships, and community engagement
- Onboard all new members and ensure a smooth transition into The Venture Center community
- Oversee and streamline membership systems, automating manual tasks wherever possible
- Troubleshoot membership and payment issues and maintain accurate records in CRM and payment platforms
- Send out biannual member surveys and analyze results to identify trends, needs, and improvement opportunities
- Use data and insights to drive decision-making and report on membership growth and engagement metrics
Member Engagement & Experience
- Proactively identify new ways to engage and add value for members
- Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective members
- Serve as the main point of contact for member support and feedback
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to promote membership benefits and success stories
- Work cross-functionally with program and event staff to ensure member needs are integrated across all initiatives
Mentorship & Partner Relations
- Recruit and onboard new mentors to expand The Venture Center’s mentor network
- Schedule, host, and manage quarterly mentor trainings
- Serve as a liaison between mentors, members, and staff to ensure alignment and engagement
Operations & Collaboration
- Manage room reservations, scheduling, and intake for events and meetings for members and non-members
- Coordinate with VP, Programs & Operations on logistics, invoicing, and troubleshooting tech or space issues
- Collaborate with the Program Manager, Entrepreneurship, Tech Park and other stakeholders on quarterly community events to foster connection and awareness
- Continuously assess and refine systems and workflows to improve efficiency and member satisfaction
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in membership, community management, customer success, or program operations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with attention to detail
- Experience improving and automating operational systems or workflows
- Comfortable with technology and tools (CRM platforms, Google Workspace, event systems, etc.)
- Willingness to work occasional evening events (approx. 1–2 per month)
- Experience working in a nonprofit, entrepreneurial, or startup environment
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Hub Spot, Salesforce) and membership management platforms
- Experience planning and hosting community or networking events
