About This Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Security Architect to lead the design, development, and evolution of our managed security services portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in the Fortinet ecosystem and a strategic mindset for evaluating and integrating new vendors and technologies. This role is pivotal in driving our product roadmap, ensuring our security solutions are effective, scalable, and aligned with the ever-changing threat landscape.
You will be the technical visionary for our security products, translating complex technologies into market-leading managed services.
- Service & Product Development:
- Lead the architectural design and development of new, multi-tenant managed security services, including Managed Firewall, SD-WAN, SASE, and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA).
- Enhance and maintain the architecture of existing security service offerings to improve efficacy, scalability, and efficiency.
- Create comprehensive documentation including high-level designs (HLD), low-level designs (LLD), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and service descriptions.
- Collaborate with product management and sales teams to define service features, tiers, and technical requirements.
- Technology Evaluation & Innovation:
- Continuously research and analyze emerging security threats, trends, and technologies to identify opportunities for new service offerings.
- Lead Proof of Concept (PoC) evaluations and competitive bake-offs for new security products and vendors.
- Develop test plans, success criteria, and detailed reports to support technology adoption decisions.
- Provide strategic recommendations to leadership on technology investments and product roadmap direction.
- Technical Leadership & Expertise:
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Fortinet Security Fabric, including Forti Gate, Forti Manager, Forti Analyzer, Forti
SIEM, Forti Portal, and SD-WAN. - Provide Tier-4 expert-level support for complex incidents and design-related issues, acting as the final point of escalation.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to security engineering and operations teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Establish and champion security architecture best practices and standards across the organization.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Fortinet Security Fabric, including Forti Gate, Forti Manager, Forti Analyzer, Forti
- Fortinet NSE 7 or NSE 8 certification is highly desirable.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar.
- Experience with other leading security vendors (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Zscaler, Crowd Strike).
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and ZTNA solutions.
- Familiarity with public cloud security architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) to drive operational efficiency.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC
2). - Proven experience working within an MSSP, MSP, or similar service provider environment.
- Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience with the Fortinet Security Fabric (Forti Gate, Forti Manager, Forti Analyzer).
- Strong understanding of core networking principles, including advanced routing (BGP) and switching.
- In-depth knowledge of security fundamentals, including firewalls, VPN (IPsec/SSL), IDS/IPS, NAC, web filtering, and threat intelligence.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
College degree in Engineering or a related field and 8+ years professional level experience with 2-3 years supervisory experience; or 12+ years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience with 2-3 years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience desired.
The starting compensation range for this job is $105,600 to $141,300 annually.
