* Associate's degree in radiation therapy PLUS two (2) years of experience in a healthcare environment OR Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy
* Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a radiation therapist with an accredited program of radiation therapy technology PLUS Current Licensure as a Radiation Therapist with the Arkansas Department of Health.
* Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
* Positions patients for treatment with accuracy and administers doses of radiation to specific body parts using radiation therapy equipment according to physician's prescription and established practices and standards.
* Monitors radiation therapy equipment to ensure proper operation and follows principles of radiation protection to ensure safety for patient, self, and others.
* Reviews prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, and identification.
* Maintains required records, reports, and files, including radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patient's reaction.
* Conducts treatment sessions independently, in accordance with long term treatment plan and under the general direction of patient's physician.
* Inputs data into computer and sets controls to operate and adjust equipment or regulate dosage.
* Observes and reassures patients during treatment and reports unusual reactions to physician.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
