Job Duties:

The Medical Laboratory Scientist I performs routine and moderately complex laboratory tests on patient specimens to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Working under general supervision, the MLS I operates automated and manual laboratory equipment, follows established procedures and quality control standards, and ensures accurate, timely reporting of test results

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Sciences OR an approved ASCP discipline (30 semester hours in biology and chemistry, which may be obtained within, or in addition to, the Bachelor's). ASCP or another accrediting agency certified or eligible (Certification must be obtained within one year of eligibility).

• Performs testing of patient samples, interprets, reviews, and prepares patient test results for review by the Supervisor and/or Medical Director. May or may not be trained on all benches, but is progressively increasing in knowledge and experience.
