Job Duties
The College of Health Professions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) invites applications for a core faculty position in our Department of Physical Therapy at the UAMS Northwest Campus in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree (post-professional or DPT with advanced clinical specialization)
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a licensed physical therapist
- Teaching, research, or clinical experience in cardiopulmonary disorders, neurological disorders, and/or pathology
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify and solve problems
- Contemporary, evidence-based clinical practice knowledge in cardiopulmonary, neurological, and/or acute care practice areas
- Experience designing and conducting independent or collaborative research in the area of clinical expertise
- Physical therapy license or license eligibility in Arkansas
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced (non-clinical) Doctorate
- Established scholarly agenda
- Three (3) years of prior teaching experience in a physical therapy academic program
- Active involvement in professional activities at the local, state, or national level
- Design and teach academic courses in areas of content expertise
- Engage in scholarly and service activities consistent with university, college, and CAPTE expectations
- Contribute to program and curriculum assessment and planning
- May perform duties as assigned
