SummaryLead Mental Health Security Officers (LMHSO) provide immediate safety and security to patients and staff located in the mental health wards at Baptist Health. These staff are trained to de‑escalate crisis situations in real time. Physical intervention may be required if a present danger is identified. This position interacts with an interdisciplinary team to assess functional abilities, impairments, and needs of each patient.
This position works under the direction of licensed nursing staff, and performs various duties including, but not limited to: 1:1 observation, inventory of patient belongings, assistance in restraint application, searching for contraband, searching new admissions, and reporting any changes in patient conditions.
- Valid Arkansas Driver's License
- Must be able to pass a MVR check
- Able to meet the state qualifications to obtain and maintain all preferred security credentials
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Must not use any nicotine or tobacco products in any form
- High school graduate or GED required
- Bachelor's degree preferred or 4 years of related security experience
- Demonstrates knowledge of security protocols
- Demonstrates knowledge of mental health treatment
- Must be able to complete the prescribed de‑escalation training provided by Baptist Health
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi‑weekly.
