Summary:
Responsible for driving the ambulance to and from the scene of all emergency and non-emergency calls. Provides Basic Life Support (BLS) including medical evaluation, treatment, and stabilization to the critically ill or injured patients in the pre-hospital environment. Must understand and have a working knowledge of all equipment and supplies on the Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulance in order to assist the paramedic in any and all situations.
Other information:
High School Diploma or GED. Graduate of accredited Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program, Licenses by the State of Arkansas, current American Heart Association Health Care Provider (CPR). Requirements for continued employment as an EMT are:
1) State licensure required, National Registry preferred,
2) American Heart Association Health Care Provider (CPR) required. Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) provider required within first 12 months of employment. Current Arkansas driver’s license, and meets Baptist Health auto insurance requirements, minimum 21 years of age.
