We are seeking an experienced Clinical Oncology Pharmacist to join our multidisciplinary oncology team. The pharmacist will play a pivotal role in the comprehensive pharmaceutical care of cancer patients from assessment through treatment decisions, medication management, symptom management, and supportive care.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct medication reconciliation and ensure the medication list is accurate.
  • Help with treatment decision‑making based on current literature and NCCN Guidelines.
  • Perform benefits investigation for oral oncology medications and obtain prior authorization when necessary.
  • Triage prescriptions to outside specialty pharmacy if mandated by insurance and perform follow‑up and education.
  • Screen for allergies, drug/drug, and drug/disease state interactions.
  • Ensure all recommended labs and tests are performed or scheduled before the start of new therapy.
  • Help decrease the financial burden of cancer treatment by utilizing outside resources, including grants and patient assistance.
  • Counsel patients on prescribed medications per pharmacy regulations.
  • Provide educational materials to patients and caregivers in easy‑to‑understand formats, including proper handling and disposal of chemotherapy.
  • Monitor and manage side effects, providing supportive care recommendations or dose reductions based on FDA‑approved package inserts.
  • Screen patients for enrollment in injection programs and help ensure patients do not incur added cost.
  • Ensure all doses, routes, and dosing intervals are appropriate for the patient’s age, weight, height, and diagnosis.
  • Advocate for patient access to drugs, consulting with patients on benefits and obtaining prior authorizations.
  • Review medication orders against patient profiles to identify potential adverse drug reactions; recommend corrective actions to the prescribing physician when necessary.
  • Perform quality assurance activities as assigned.
  • Provide drug information to patients, physicians, nurses, and team members; counsel patients regarding medications.
  • Attend weekly Tumor Board meetings.
  • When appropriate, meet with industry representatives to learn about recent clinical trials or new indications.
  • Provide education and in‑services for pharmacists, nurses, and other team members.
  • Provide orientation and training to pharmacy team members.
  • Oversee Pharmacy Technicians.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (RPh) required;
    Doctoral Degree in Pharmacy (Pharm

    D) preferred.
  • Valid Arkansas Pharmacist’s license.
  • 2–4 years of experience in retail pharmacy preferred; oncology and specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, mathematical calculations, and drug interactions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique and USP 797 requirements.
  • Ability to use a computer and manage high‑volume workload with accuracy.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (RPh) required;
    Pharm

    D preferred.
  • Valid Arkansas Pharmacist’s license required.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in retail pharmacy; oncology experience preferred.
  • Experience in specialty pharmacy preferred.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle objects.
  • Vision requirements: close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Potential exposure to infectious diseases; vaccinations and safety training provided.
