Job Objective: To provide non-instructor support to the Little Rock Police Department Training Division in the development, coordination, and implementation of training objectives for Police Recruits and sworn Police Officers. The Part‑Time Civilian Training Assistant works directly under sworn Training Instructors and serves as primary support staff for training‑related administrative and logistical functions.
Note: The Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST) does not recognize past Instructor Development or Firearms Instructor certifications obtained in a sworn capacity once an individual transitions to a civilian role. Therefore, the individual in this position is not authorized to instruct or evaluate sworn personnel unless CLEST specifically approves them to teach a subject as a recognized expert.
This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

Minimum Qualifications & Additional Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three to five years of experience working as a police officer.
- At least one year of personal computer experience.
- Valid Arkansas Class D (Non‑Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License.
- Experience in training certified law enforcement officers.

- Regular part‑time employees who work 1,500 hours shall receive six days of sick leave upon completion of the 1,500 hours. Unused sick leave may accumulate to a maximum of fifteen days (120 hours).
- Vacation leave accrual:
- Up to 10 years of service (40 hrs.) – 5 days per year.
- 10 years or more (60 hrs.) – 7½ days per year.
