Job Description

The Teller II (Float) is responsible for conducting transactions with speed, accuracy, and efficiency while meeting or exceeding service quality standards. This role involves safeguarding bank assets and promoting bank products and services. The position requires floating to different branch locations as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Receive and pay out cash, handle negotiable items, loan payments, deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.

Set up, close, and balance teller stations.

Record sales of monetary instruments.

Maintain a neat and well-stocked teller area.

Cross-sell bank products and services.

Follow established limits for account protection and bank safety.

Adhere to bank policies and procedures.

Assist with balancing vault, ATM, night drop, and coin machine.

Assist with scanning bank documents and proof work.

Exercise judgment in applying holds and check cashing decisions.

Be cross-trained to open basic new consumer accounts.

Maintain a flexible work schedule and a professional attitude.

Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned, including lifting coin bags up to 50 lbs.

Complete required BSA/AML and other compliance training.

Qualifications

Successful performance of essential duties requires:

High school diploma or GED with emphasis on office/shop skills, plus 12-18 months related experience or training.
Effective communication skills for interacting with customers and staff.
Basic math skills for handling money and measurements.
Ability to follow multi-step instructions and deal with standardized situations.
Proficiency in basic software such as 10-Key, spreadsheets, and word processing.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, and perform physical activities as described.
Availability to float between locations and work flexible schedules.
