** Summary of

Job Duties:

** The Assistant Controller will manage inventory and fixed asset accounting, along with various work activities of the Financial Services to ensure compliance with GAAP, federal/state laws/regulations and institutional policies/procedures. The Assistant Controller, in conjunction with the Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance, is responsible for the recording, analyzing, and maintenance of financial records of the institution.

General Responsibilities:

• Record the movement of fixed assets within the College.  
• Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets.  
• Conduct periodic impairment reviews for intangible assets.  
• Conduct periodic physical counts of fixed assets.  
• Determine and post depreciation expense for all fixed assets.  
• Create and post journal entries for fixed asset transactions.  
• Reconcile the fixed asset subledger with the general ledger.  
• Recommend to management whether fixed assets should be disposed of.  
• Perform physical inventories and audits to verify asset existence and accuracy.  
• Generate reports on a regular basis for management on asset activity and capital expenditures.

Other Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries.  
• Monitor the accuracy and integrity of College-wide accounting data and systems.  
• Monitor and coordinate the interface of various reports to Workday and AASIS.  
• Monitor, track, and reconcile AASIS reports for general revenue and cash appropriations.  
• Prepare reports for federal and state agencies.  
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.  
• Demonstrate ability in problem solving, multitasking, and time management.  
• Participate in developing and evaluating department goals, objectives, and systems.

• Assist the Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance and Vice Chancellor with other duties and projects as needed.##
