Urban Planning Intern
North Little Rock, Arkansas (or Fayetteville)
Internship Description- Assist in the development and writing of planning studies and reports such as comprehensive plans, transportation plans, sub-area plans, downtown plans, overlay districts and recreation plans.
- Assist with the evaluation of rezonings, ordinance amendments, site plans, permits, variances, or other proposals.
- Receive working experience and training in industry-related design software such as ArcGIS.
- Attend client meetings, public meetings, and visit planning sites.
- Engage daily with fellow Garver Launch interns and industry professionals to build your network.
- Participate in Garver's acclaimed wellness program, empowering you to prioritize your overall well-being.
- Give back to your community through volunteer activities as part of our Garver Gives initiative.
- Enhance your professional growth by collaborating with Garver's Learning and Development team, which offers tailored training and programs, including skills-based courses, designed to support your development.
- Must be actively pursuing an Urban Planning degree, or related degree such as Landscape Architecture, Public Administration, Geography, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to work in different environments, both indoors and outdoors, as necessary.
- Proven time management skills and work ethic.
- Proven professional communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong interest in pursuing urban planning as a career.
- Previous experience using GIS software.
