Job Summary /Purpose

Responsible for development and implementation of processes required to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations. Strong preference for an individual with a Biology background specifically including avian and wildlife program management and biodiversity.

This position is designated as a Safety Sensitive position and is subject to mandatory pre-employment and random drug testing.

Job Duties /Responsibilities
  • Lead efforts to update, implement, and maintain the avian protection plan. Investigate avian powerline injuries or mortalities and coordinate mitigation efforts.
  • Maintain appropriate permits, prepare required reports, and work in partnership with other Enterprise Environmental analysts and operations personnel to assist in ensuring regulatory compliance, and develop action plans to close gaps where necessary.
  • Develop and maintain tools to assist the enterprise in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly those pertaining to avian, biodiversity, and wildlife.
  • Provide general environmental regulatory compliance support to facilities, including participation in regulatory compliance audits and delivery of compliance training to target audiences.
  • Participate in work groups to support new and ongoing projects.
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Represent Entergy in trade associations, as well as in state and federal regulatory development and stakeholder processes.
  • Manage records and documentation pertaining to compliance programs in accordance with the records retention policy.
  • Assess potential ecological and environmental impacts of Entergy electrical transmission and distribution construction projects.
  • Monitor laws and regulations for changes that may impact Entergy Utility Operations work practices and assist in developing and incorporating regulatory compliance strategies.
  • Advise various parts of the business to fund compliance-related initiatives and risk minimization efforts.
Minimum Requirements Minimum education required for the position

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or other related field, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum experience required of the position

Analyst – Environmental II: 2+ years of experience handling environmental compliance activities.

Analyst – Environmental III: 4+ years of experience handling environmental compliance activities.

Analyst – Senior: 6+ years of experience handling environmental compliance activities.

Analyst – Senior Lead: 8+ years of experience handling environmental compliance activities.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
  • Applicant must be physically able to conduct field environmental investigations.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.

  • Flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Willing and able to perform other unrelated duties as required and learn new processes and technologies.

Desired:

  • Experience managing environmental programs in an industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of utility and power generation fundamentals.
