About the Role

As a Senior Structural Engineer professional within our Advanced Manufacturing team, you’ll work on a variety of projects related to Data Centers, including new builds, retrofits, colocation projects, and more. You will be performing various aspects of structural engineering assignments, subsequently increasing your depth and breadth of familiarity with design methods and tools. You’ll be a key asset, contributing to a diverse team of engineers and designers on capital projects, liaising with other internal professionals and design departments, and coordinating designs with Jacobs offices both domestic and international.

You’ll have the opportunity to grow technically and professionally as you gain more experience and expand your leadership role within the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of structural analysis.
  • Create computer models for structures.
  • Perform calculations for member designs and foundations, material take‑offs for estimating, preparation of miscellaneous calculations, assistance with schedules, and related tasks.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 8 or more years of professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to become registered in additional states.
  • Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Micro Station, and S3D.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD.
  • Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and other industry-relevant design codes and standards.
  • Knowledge and application of Building Codes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Teams for remote coordination.
  • Ability to travel to various client sites (approximately 10% to 20% travel).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Engineering.
  • Experience with industrial metals projects including casting and rolling operations or similar heavy industrial projects.
  • Ability to lead teams to deliver commitments on schedule and on budget while meeting quality and client expectations.
