Base pay range: $58,656.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr.
OverviewAt Jacobs, we challenge the world by solving critical problems for cities, environments, and industries. We seek an Entry‑Level Instrumentation & Controls Engineer who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business, including state‑of‑the‑art industrial and commercial facilities.
Responsibilities• You’ll be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of engineering tasks, gaining familiarity with user expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.
• Provide on‑site assistance during startup and coordinate work activities with other staff members.
• As a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary team member, design and optimize control systems for a variety of processes, working closely with architects, engineers, and designers to deliver complete, world‑class solutions for new facilities.
• Develop P&IDs, size valves, specify instrumentation, document and model design information while ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.
• Produce control system designs for processes and develop options and optimizations for all aspects of process control, instrumentation, and automation.
Qualifications- Associate’s or Engineering Tech degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- Working knowledge of Revit software (preferred)
- Engineer in Training (EIT) (preferred)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Forward‑thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute innovative ideas
- Ability to learn quickly and broaden knowledge base
- Collaborative team player, effective with multidisciplinary teams
- Passion for buildings and construction
- Prior experience with DDC and PLC‑based control systems
- Experience with data center design or operations
