Job Duties:

The Visiting Assistant Professor position is a temporary, non tenure-track, one (1)-year appointment and includes teaching in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and weekend formats. Employees will be expected to work positively with faculty, staff, students, and the community, and to teach courses as assigned in keeping with University workload policy. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or

Experience:

* Terminal degree in the field of research/teaching

* Teaching experience in a college setting

* Research consistent with departmental focus and needs

Job Duties and Responsibilities

* Teach three courses per semester in Philosophy and/or Interdisciplinary Studies

* Advise students majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies or Philosophy

* Perform program-, school-, college-, and university-level service as needed

* Keep at least three regular office hours (in person or virtual) each week

* Attend regular Philosophy/Interdisciplinary Studies program and School of Human Inquiry faculty meetings

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

* Teaching experience in a college setting;

* A program of research/creative consistent with departmental focus on positive communication in interpersonal and organizational communication contexts;

* Ability to teach a variety of courses within our curriculum in a traditional and online format;

* Desire to engage in professional service activities in the community.
