The Upward Bound (UB) program at ASU –Beebe is seeking Tutor/Mentors (T/M’s) for their 2026 Summer Session. T/M’s are live‑in residence hall staff members who provide supervision and mentoring services for UB (high school) students during the summer program. They are also responsible for supervising study halls, assisting with classes as needed, and providing tutorial help for participating students. The T/M’s are required to stay on campus in the residence halls and supervise participants from 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening through checkout on Friday evening (begins at 5:00 p.m.).
NOTE:
Taking classes during Summer 1 2026 is not permitted. The training will be on May 28th and May 29th with the residential program beginning May 31st thru July 3rd. Interviews will be conducted on April 13th and April 14th.
T/M responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: sharing three meals a day with the students and UB staff, developing and maintaining a work schedule with the lead T/M or T/M Supervisor, supervising and assisting with student activities, modeling appropriate college‑student behavior, demonstrating and utilizing effective leadership and communication, and actively engaging in other duties as they are assigned.
T/M’s are paid $1,300.00 for the 5‑week summer camp; room & board are included for carrying out the responsibilities and duties specified in the job description. They will also be granted a $200.00 stipend upon arrival for the cost of travel and quality‑of‑life expenses.
Required QualificationsMust have completed one year of college by the end of the Spring 2026 semester with a 2.50 GPA or better and either be enrolled in a university for the Fall Semester of 2026 or have recently graduated with a degree. Math, English, and Science skills are a plus; must attend an intensive training workshop prior to residential sessions. Verbal and written communication, leadership qualities, problem‑solving ability, punctuality, adaptability.
