The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture is a statewide campus with faculty based on University campuses, at Research and Extension Centers and in every Arkansas county. Job Duties
The successful candidate will lead a comprehensive statewide extension program of excellence in wildlife management. Emphasis areas will include upland game bird management and nuisance/invasive wildlife issues in addition to wildlife management issues that address stakeholder needs and complement efforts of fellow natural resources extension and research team members. Candidates should desire developing educational programs for landowners, hunters, residential homeowners, natural resources professionals, county Extension agents, and 4-H youth.
The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders effectively through an array of methods such as site visits, field tours, workshops, extension publications and online content.
The incumbent will be expected to have a statewide program. Integration of county agents into extension efforts and activities, timely response to agent questions, development of effective training programs for agents, and demonstration projects to support extension efforts are essential to success. Close collaboration with extension and research colleagues, both within AFRC and across relevant disciplines and organizations, will also be essential to success.
The successful candidate will be expected to publish in peer‑reviewed outlets, extension publications, web‑based media, and popular press. The successful candidate will also generate program support through extramural funding through various competitive sources such as state and federal grants and foundation and/or industry grants and contracts.
