Formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in business administration, with coursework in educational psychology or related area being taught; plus, two years of experience in the area being taught.
A high school diploma is required.
Job SummaryThe Training Instructor is responsible for developing and conducting training for the Department of Human Services. The role includes researching course content, creating lesson plans, delivering instruction through lectures and other techniques, evaluating training effectiveness, revising programs, and performing other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- Research DHS‑DCO policies, design documents, and business process documentation to develop training materials.
- Write course objectives, lesson plans, and content based on training directives, survey data, and other sources.
- Conduct training courses through lectures, workshops, and virtual sessions.
- Evaluate training through participants’ assessments and revise materials accordingly.
- Maintain records of training sessions, participant progress, and certifications.
- Work with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
- Coordinate schedules and collaborate with other departments to maintain consistency.
- Integrate technology such as LMS, video conferencing, and eLearning platforms into training.
- Provide professional development opportunities and support for new hires, current employees, and leadership teams.
Strong knowledge and experience in designing, developing, and delivering training programs for diverse audiences, including in-person, virtual, and blended learning formats.
Proficiency in creating training curricula, exercises, and assessments that meet various learning styles.
Ability to present complex concepts in an engaging manner.
Knowledge of training tools and technologies such as Learning Management Systems, Zoom, Teams, and multimedia content creation tools.
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in business administration or related field, with required coursework, and two years’ experience in the area being taught. A high school diploma is also accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree for certain positions.
