Summary of

Job Duties

Tenure track, 9‑month Assistant Professor appointment in the RN program. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Qualifications

Required Education and/or

Experience:

  • Masters in Nursing;
  • Recent clinical and teaching experience in a successful accredited nursing program;
  • Current unencumbered AR or multi‑compact states RN licensure is required.

Preferred Education and/or

Experience:

  • Doctoral degree in nursing or related field or current enrollment in a doctoral program is preferred;
  • Teaching experience and recent experience in nursing practice or nursing education in the area(s) of program need is preferred.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach, advise, mentor and evaluate students.
  • Participate in service to the university, community and profession.
  • Establish and maintain a program of scholarly activities.
  • Conduct clinical and classroom experiences designed to meet student and program learning outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft office program including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Ability to create, maintain, and track detailed data bases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with student, staff, faculty, and outside agencies.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to drive and operate a vehicle.
  • Ability to travel within the state.
