COMPENSATION INFORMATION

The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. We are open to discussing salary expectations with qualified candidates considering factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location will all be considered during the hiring process.

The Vendor Sourcing Specialist II plays a key role in supporting Southwest Power Pool’s enterprise procurement by managing multiple aspects of vendor sourcing activities to maximize value and ensure compliance with purchasing policies. This position partners closely with internal business owners and cross-functional teams to facilitate vendor sourcing activities, including requests for quotes (RFQs), contract negotiations, purchasing processes, and contract renewals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure vendor contracts are clearly defined, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational policies and strategic objectives
  • Develop RFQs and evaluate vendor proposals to ensure competitive bidding and alignment with SPP’s purchasing policy and supply chain strategy
  • Negotiate vendor contracts to achieve cost-effective, risk-mitigated, and value-added outcomes
  • Coordinate renewal activities for vendor products and services, ensuring continued access to the product or service, timely updates, and technical support
  • Support internal and external audits, maintain required documentation, and enforce purchasing policy compliance
  • Balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

To be successful as our Vendor Sourcing Specialist II, we’re looking for:
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of three (3) years of applicable experience in vendor sourcing-related roles
Required Skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • liAbility to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including executives, business owners/knowledge experts, and technical experts
