The Technician Repair Order (RO) Dispatcher is responsible for efficiently distributing and managing repair orders among technicians to maximize productivity, minimize downtime, and ensure timely vehicle service completion. This role plays a critical part in shop flow, technician utilization, and overall customer satisfaction.
- Assign repair orders to technicians based on skill level, certification, availability, and workload
- Ensure all dispatched work is clearly documented and properly authorized
- Track repair order status and follow up on delays or bottlenecks
- Serve as a liaison between service advisors, technicians, parts, and management
- Communicate job expectations, priorities, and deadlines to technicians
- Assist with identifying comebacks, rechecks, and follow-up work
- Assist with scheduling internal, warranty, and customer pay work appropriately
- Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer proficiency (Reynolds experience preferred)
- Understand and follow work rules, policies, and procedures
- Previous dispatching, advising, or shop coordination experience a plus
- Prior automotive service department experience preferred
High school diploma or equivalent.
