Role Overview

This position is responsible for operating and maintaining water trucks to control dust on projects and pits. Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM, with Saturday as needed. Hours may vary depending on weather and customer demand.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES- Safely and properly operate water truck to apply water within job specifications and needs
- Properly record gallons of water used to fill truck and source obtained
- Ensure proper permits are obtained for applicable loading sites
- Safely and properly perform maintenance on water truck.
- Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
- Help and clean designated areas as needed
- Assist laborers or roller operators with dumping trucks, shoveling, flagging as needed
- Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
- Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
- Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
- Assist in loading and unloading equipment for transport, including load securement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and some Saturdays.
- Preference given for experience driving a belly dump, flow boy, lowboy, tanker or straight truck.
- General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent
- CDL Class B (straight truck) license in accordance with all state and federal DOT/FMCSA regulations.
- Must have and maintain medical card and acceptable driving record and required endorsements.
