We are looking for someone great to join our team based in Dallas that is open to travel nationwide. We respect if you are still in school.

Position Summary

Tower Communications Experts (TCE) is seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice to join our growing telecom infrastructure and EV power division. This role supports licensed electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for cell towers, EV battery systems, backup generators, microwave, and radio communication equipment. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, safety‑driven, and ready to participate in an accredited electrical apprenticeship program
, combining hands‑on field experience with formal technical instruction to become a licensed electrician within the telecommunications industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist licensed electricians with the installation and maintenance of tower power systems, grounding systems, generators, and battery backups.
  • Support electrical work related to microwave equipment, EV battery storage systems, fiber, and radio power distribution.
  • Help pull wire, bend conduit, terminate cables, and install panels, disconnects, and lighting systems.
  • Learn to interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and site‑specific schematics.
  • Perform basic electrical testing, measurements, and troubleshooting under supervision.
  • Ensure all work meets NEC, OSHA, and TCE safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of materials used and work performed.
  • Participate in safety briefings, daily job hazard analyses, and toolbox talks.
  • Attend and successfully complete required coursework through a state‑accredited apprenticeship program recognized by the Department of Labor.
  • Uphold TCE’s values of professionalism, reliability, and safety on every site.
Requirements Education & Training
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Enrollment in, or eligibility for, an accredited electrical apprenticeship program.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Experience
  • Prior field experience in electrical, tower, or construction work preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with DC power systems, grounding, and battery banks a plus.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Willingness to learn and work at heights (up to 300+ feet when required).
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with field teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and traveling for extended periods.
Apprenticeship Program Overview
  • 8,000 hours of supervised on‑the‑job training (OJT) with TCE field mentors and licensed electricians.
  • 576 hours of related classroom instruction through an approved technical school or IEC/IBEW partner.
  • Structured wage progression with each program milestone achieved.
  • Preparation for the Journeyman Electrician License and career advancement within TCE.
Work Environment
  • Outdoor tower and field environments with varying weather conditions.
  • May involve climbing, confined space entry, and working around high‑voltage equipment.
  • Regular use of hand and power tools, testing instruments, and PPE.
  • Frequent travel and overnight stays as projects require.
