Overview
The Regional Human Resources Manager will be responsible for providing support to designated district gym management teams in the following areas: recruiting, interviewing, onboarding new hires, advising gym management on the coaching and counseling procedures, employee relations, processing personnel action changes, benefit administration and accident & injury tracking. This position requires some overnight travel to gym locations in their designated districts (up to 30%).
Responsibilities- Assist gym management team in the hiring process using the company's Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Includes monitoring the completion of required documents, i.e., I9, direct deposit, background check completion, and all required onboarding documents.
- Assist gym management team with recruiting by monitoring candidates, reviewing, and screening candidates for open positions. Handle external job postings as well as on-site and off-site job fairs as needed.
- Assist gym management team with new hire onboarding to ensure that the team member is onboarded correctly on their first day on the job and ensure completion of new team member's Form 1-9.
- Advise gym management team on company policy and processes.
- Responsible for entering and maintaining accurate data in the company payroll system, both as original input and on-going maintenance.
- Create and maintain electronic team member files to ensure all new hire documentation is filed in a timely manner after team member is onboarded. Maintain team member files to ensure that documents are filed as needed going forward.
- Advise gym management team on disciplinary issues and partner with managers in administering discipline procedures correctly by ensuring all proper documentation. Advise managers on how to deal with disciplinary issues correctly as well as represent the interest of the team member if the situation dictates.
- Review all coaching and counseling documentations and requests for termination from gym management.
- Conduct investigations and handle employee complaints and disputes.
- Ensure that the terminating team members are processed out of the payroll system in a timely manner while meeting all federal and state laws. Coordinate final pay with the payroll team to ensure team member's final paycheck is handled according to state regulations.
- Assist team members with all benefit issues that result during their initial onboarding, or benefit enrollment due to a status change or qualifying life event. Assist Team Members during annual open enrollment period.
- Manage the Accident and Injury Program for gyms in designated district by documenting, following up and monitoring accidents and injuries as needed. If work is missed due to an injury, ensure that pay is verified by the work injury provider and processed by the payroll team to ensure team member is paid in a timely manner. Serve as primary contact for managers regarding injuries in their facilities.
- Manage the leave process for employees requesting leave, i.e., FMLA and personal leaves of absence. Communicate with payroll on adjusting pay and work with team member to ensure insurance premiums are kept up to date while team member is on leave of absence.
- Handle and manage unemployment claims and employment verifications as needed.
- Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, and professional certifications.
- Maintain district stats and reports on hiring, recruiting, terminations, headcount, etc.
- Assist the HR Field Operations Director on projects as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or HR related field, preferred
- 2 to 3 years of HR generalist experience.
- Superior interpersonal skills especially with coaching and counseling techniques.
- Ability to understand a comprehensive HRIS system and effectively input and report from data fields available.
- Ability to work within deadlines and handle multi-tasks during the workday.
- Good understanding of team member benefit programs to include health, dental, life, vacation, sick and 401k Plans.
- Operational knowledge of worker's compensation and state unemployment programs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good understanding of company policies, procedures, and operations, with the ability to recommend changes when necessary.
- Ability to travel up to 30% within district including some overnight travel and weekends, when necessary.
