Overview

Field Service Technician - Little Chute, WI
American State Equipment is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who enjoys working independently in the field, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a wide range of heavy construction and crushing/screening equipment. Responsibilities
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair customer and company-owned construction equipment and crushing/screening machines in the field or shop.
  • Work on a variety of equipment brands, including Astec, KPI/JCI, Sandvik, Liebherr, Roadtec, Gomaco, and others.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep.
  • Use diagnostic tools (laptops, gauges, instruments) to evaluate systems such as hydraulics, electronics, engines, and powertrains.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machines and components to OEM specifications using proper tooling.
  • Interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders to perform service tasks accurately.
  • Research repair requirements and order parts as needed.
  • Complete service work orders, PM checklists following department guidelines.
  • Maintain professionalism, communication, and a clean appearance when interacting with customers.
  • Provide job status updates to office staff and customers as required.
  • Load/unload equipment and components from customer or common carrier vehicles.
  • Follow all OSHA Safety and Health regulations and adhere to company safety standards.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in heavy equipment repair (field or shop)
  • Strong knowledge of construction and screening/crushing equipment
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (CDL a plus)
  • Ability to work independently and in varying weather conditions
