Position Overview

The Electrical and Automation Technician is responsible for providing daily electrical support to either half of the plant (East/West) or the entire facility as needed. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance and support for capital and extraordinary maintenance projects. Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills and enjoy collaborating with various departments. Selection will be based on electrical competency and relevant experience.

Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent time management skills, self-motivation, and the ability to independently complete in-plant electrical projects and repairs. Familiarity with equipment logs, reports, and computerized maintenance systems is essential for tracking equipment reliability and managing time effectively.

Qualifications for Success

To excel in this position, candidates should have:

  • An Associate Degree in an Industrial Electrical technical field or be an Electrical Industrial or E&I Journeyman (preferred)
  • Knowledge of electrical skills and systems
  • Proficiency with PLCs:
    Pico, Mico, Compact Logix, SLC
    500, Control Logix, Guard Logix, and PLC-5
  • Experience with Servos:
    Ultra, Kinetix (required, but not mandatory)
  • Familiarity with Drives: 160, 1305, 1336, Powerflex Drives
  • Ability to troubleshoot circuits
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Electrical Software, Outlook, Excel, Word, SAP, iPad, Teams, and Share Point
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing devices, including:
    • Multimeters for AC/DC voltage and amperage, milliamp, millivolt, OHM’s, frequency, and min/max readings
    • IR Cameras for imaging and reviewing with Fluke software
    • Calibration equipment (calibration tester, dry blocks, etc.)
    • Oscilloscopes (AC/DC voltage and amperage, milliamp, millivolt, OHM’s, frequency, and min/max readings—helpful but not required)
    • Power Loggers for AC connections (helpful but not required)
