Job Description & How to Apply Below

Kids In Need Foundation (KINF)

KINF is a national nonprofit organization committed to creating equitable learning environments for underserved students and teachers across the United States. We do this by providing free classroom supplies to teachers and free school supplies to students in schools where 50% or more of the student population qualifies for National School Lunch Program services—with a focus on schools where 70% or more of students meet this criterion.

Our mission is to ensure that all pre‑K–12 students have access to the essential tools and resources they need to succeed in school. Through the distribution of supplies, support for educators, and investment in educational initiatives, we strive to make a lasting impact on students’ lives nationwide.

Position Summary

The Teacher Resource Center (TRC) Manager plays a vital and uniquely impactful role at Kids In Need Foundation’s Teacher Resource Center, located at our Little Canada headquarters. Unlike a traditional retail environment, the TRC exists to serve educators working in under‑resourced schools by partnering with companies to acquire donated core school supplies and classroom necessities—items that teachers may shop for at absolutely no cost to them.

The TRC maintains a welcoming retail “feel” to create an engaging and efficient experience for educators.

In addition to shopping for supplies, teachers also have access to complimentary self‑service copying and laminating, as well as a comfortable lounge area where they can relax, enjoy a cup of coffee, and connect with fellow educators. This thoughtful environment reflects our mission and requires a manager who excels in leadership, customer service, and operational management.

The ideal TRC Manager brings strong communication skills, the ability to motivate and support a team of staff and volunteers, and a problem‑solving mindset needed to navigate the needs of staff, volunteers, and teacher shoppers. This role also requires solid business acumen in inventory oversight, merchandising, budgeting, scheduling, and overall store operations. Most importantly, the successful candidate will have a heart for serving teachers and a passion for our mission—making this an exceptional opportunity for someone with a retail background and experience working with or supporting educators.
