Position Overview
The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple electrical construction projects from pre-construction through completion. Working closely with company superintendents who manage daily field operations, this role ensures projects are properly staffed, materials are available when needed, schedules are maintained, and budgets are controlled.
This role requires strong leadership, organization, and planning skills, along with proven success managing complex commercial or industrial electrical construction projects.
Key Responsibilities Project Management- Manage multiple electrical construction projects simultaneously
- Oversee projects from planning and planning to closeout
- Coordinate with superintendents, field crews, general contractors, engineers, subcontractors, and clients
- Ensure work meets quality standards, safety requirements, and code compliance
- Plan and coordinate labor requirements across multiple projects
- Work with superintendents to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Anticipate manpower needs and adjust workforce allocations accordingly
- Support efficient field operations and productivity
- Plan and schedule material procurement to support project timelines
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal purchasing staff
- Track long-lead items and ensure materials arrive when needed
- Monitor material costs and usage
- Monitor project budgets and track job costs
- Prepare forecasts and manage financial performance of assigned projects
- Create, review, and manage change orders
- Ensure cost control throughout the project lifecycle
- Develop and maintain project schedules
- Coordinate work with general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades
- Identify schedule risks and implement solutions
- Review drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and project documents
- Review subcontract agreements
- Maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Ensure work complies with project specifications, electrical codes, and safety requirements
- Support company safety policies and procedures
· 5+ years of electrical project management experience (or equivalent field/project background)
· Strong knowledge of NEC, electrical systems, and construction processes
· Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
· Proficiency with project management software (e.g. Procore, MS Project, etc.)
