IT Help Desk Technician
Shift: 1st
Pay: $24
Duration of assignment: 6-8mnths
Position SummaryThe IT Help Desk Technician provides first-level desktop and operating system support to users across the organization. This role serves as the initial point of contact for IT-related issues and consistently applies service desk processes while delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically capable, and passionate about helping others through technology.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the initial point of contact for all desktop and PC support issues.
- Document customer inquiries through clear communication with end users and take appropriate action to resolve technical problems.
- Respond to IT system hardware issues by gathering and documenting relevant information and escalating issues to appropriate IT team members as needed.
- Record issue resolutions and follow up with end users to ensure satisfaction.
- Set up and support new PCs, monitors, printers, and peripherals (e.g., keyboards, mice, and other electronic devices).
- Deliver and install computers at employee workstations.
- Assist other support technicians with deploying and configuring Windows PCs.
- Participate in Windows PC upgrades and replacement projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
- Excellent customer service skills with clear, professional communication.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to read and follow policies and procedures.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift, carry, and install computers, monitors, and related equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues with Microsoft desktop operating systems.
- Positive attitude and a passion for technology.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior help desk or service desk experience preferred.
- Experience installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and diagnosing issues with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
