Position

Purpose

The Technical Designer, Audio Systems supports the development of audio system designs for themed entertainment and location‑based experiences. This role assists with feasibility analysis, acoustic and performance studies, and preparation of audio design intent documentation under the guidance of senior designers and discipline leads. The Associate Technical Designer is expected to build proficiency in TAIT processes, tools, and standards while producing accurate, well‑organized deliverables.

Audio

Design Team

The Audio Design team is responsible for audio system design across multiple project types, including large‑scale theme park attractions, lands, venues, and other immersive environments. Work commonly includes concept and schematic design, acoustic design and modeling, detailed design intent documentation, interdisciplinary coordination, and technical support through fabrication and installation performed by outside delivery partners. Targeted on‑site support may include site surveys, installation verification, field changes, and troubleshooting to support successful system performance and customer handover.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities
  • Supports development of audio system designs to meet project needs and creative intent
  • Assists with acoustic performance studies by collecting inputs, executing basic tasks, and documenting assumptions and outputs under guidance
  • Maintains organized project files and revision tracking to support effective coordination and handoff
  • Coordinates with adjacent disciplines to gather interface information and identify missing requirements
  • Assists with vendor and integrator coordination by tracking submittals and documenting review comments as directed
  • Participates in design reviews and technical coordination meetings, captures notes, and updates packages as assigned
  • Performs limited on‑site support as assigned (site surveys, installation verification, field changes, troubleshooting) and documents observations
  • Applies TAIT standards, templates, and repeatable study/documentation methods; identifies opportunities to improve quality and consistency
  • Builds proficiency in relevant tools and workflows
