JOB SUMMARY
The Engineering Services Manager leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering essential support services to the engineering department. This includes managing technical documentation, CAD and drafting support, and hands‑on technical services. A key focus of this role is the implementation and administration of PDM and PLM systems to ensure efficient data management and product lifecycle processes. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical coordination skills, and deep expertise in engineering data systems.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTSThe requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this job while exercising independent judgment and discretion.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Extensive hands‑on experience with PDM and PLM systems (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, Autodesk Vault, Dassault ENOVIA).
- Strong understanding of CAD tools (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD) and engineering documentation standards.
- Proven ability to manage cross‑functional technical teams and coordinate complex workflows.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering support services, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Lead and manage a team of documentation specialists, technical writers, mechanical designers, drafters, and technicians.
- Oversee the development, control, and maintenance of technical documentation, drawings, and specifications.
- Administer and optimize PDM and PLM systems to support product data integrity, version control, and change management.
- Coordinate drafting and design support for engineering projects, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and IT teams to align service priorities and ensure seamless data flow across systems.
- Establish and enforce standards for document control, CAD practices, and engineering change processes.
- Provide training and support to internal users of PDM/PLM systems.
- Monitor team performance, provide coaching and development, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, reduce cycle times, and improve team productivity.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
