Position: Supervisor Warehouse Days

Overview

The Warehouse shift supervisor directs/supervises the workforce on day-to-day operations/shifts, safety, and people within the warehouse. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)

Essential Position Functions
  • Supervision of the order fulfillment process at assigned distribution center.
  • Responsible for the inspection of all material handling equipment and truck fleet and coordination of necessary repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Coordinates routing and dispatch of daily shipping activities with in-house drivers, couriers and freight carriers.
  • Provides oversight for warehouse activities including daily operations, facility and grounds maintenance and safety compliance.
  • Tracks productivity to meet company requirements and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Coordinates safety, systems and job specific training for warehouse associates and drivers.
  • Communicates effectively with customers and provides timely follow up to problem resolution to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Completes receiving and shipping warehouse activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

And/or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 3 years of warehouse experience
  • Previous supervisory/management experience preferred.
  • Experience in supervision, safety management, developing standards, managing processes, surveillance skills, reporting skills, analyzing information, and equipment maintenance.
  • Maintains active forklift and stand-up stock selector operator certifications.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to move heavy objects with proper equipment.
  • Must have intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and/or RF Scanners preferred.
  • Must be able to efficiently use a Windows-based computer.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skills.
  • Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English, for safe and effective performance of the job and business operations
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

  • Regularly required to walk and stand continuously for long periods of time.

  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push/pull/leverage up to 75lbs.
Mental Demands
  • Regularly required to use written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
Work Environment Details
  • Employee works primarily in a warehouse environment; noise levels are moderate to loud.
  • Employee may be subject to hot and/or cold temperatures, depending on season.
