The Distribution Lead will be responsible for leading the activities and workforce related to shipping, receiving, storing of materials and/or finished goods. This leader will function as a Subject Matter Expert on core functions and processes. This position will also work in conjunction with other members of management in the development of a workplace culture that reflects Res Med’s organizational values, standards, core competencies and behaviors.
This position reports to the Distribution Supervisor.
- Direct daily activities for distribution employees.
- Participate in the day‑to‑day duties of the warehouse.
- Perform inventory control activities, including cycle count, data entry, report generation and reconciliation.
- Expedite critical shipments as required.
- Serve as the point person for questions from the distribution teams.
- Support the training of warehouse employees.
- Provide public relations support for Fed Ex, UPS, outbound freight companies, courier representatives, etc.
- Participate in all system upgrades, testing or implementations.
- Enforce all OSHA, FDA and ISO rules and regulations.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Walk regularly and may occasionally sit, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift up to 40lb.
- Handle "packaged" hazardous materials as necessary.
- Work in a noisy environment, usually moderate to high noise level.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (combination of education and experience will be considered).
- Minimum of 1 year of distribution or warehouse leadership experience.
- Strong familiarity with MS Office applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Display energetic, self‑motivated and quick‑thinking with a positive attitude.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Experience with Fed Ex Ship Manager.
- Experience using Oracle.
- Prior experience with a WMS (Warehouse Management System).
- Prior experience with High Jump and/or Compass Conveyor systems.
- Certifications and/or advanced education.
