Reports to: Director of Adult Education

Position Type: Part Time, Academic Calendar, Mondays and Wednesday, 6:00-8:00 PM plus 30 minutes paid planning time for each class (typically 5 hrs/wk)

Exempt Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Watertown High School, 324 French Street, Watertown, CT

Pay Rate: $32.45/hr

EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant to teach Reasoning Through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies content to adult learners to prepare them to take the GED® subject area tests.

• Create a positive learning environment that is supportive and safe for all learners
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage learners and develop sound foundational skills in each subject area and transferable visual literacy skills

• Sensitive to the needs of adult learners ages 18+
• Knowledge of a wide variety of strategies and linguistic supports to support instruction
• Ability to use classroom technology such as a laptop, projector, and interactive board to enhance instruction

• Values diversity and inclusion
• Sensitive to the needs of adult learners
• CT certification #107, #106, #015 English, or #029 Mathematics preferred

• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodations
